Terms of service
Last updated 31 August 2026
These terms apply when you use the Pinpoint browser extension or this website. By using either, you agree to them.
What Pinpoint is
Pinpoint lets you mark a range of a video and keep a written summary of that range. It reads publicly available caption text, or passes a public video address to a language model. It does not download, copy, store or redistribute the video or its audio, and it is not a way to obtain a copy of anyone's video.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to it secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. One person, one account — creating additional accounts to obtain more free credits or more referral rewards is not permitted.
Your content
Your pins are yours. We claim no ownership of what you save, and we do not use your pins to train models. We store and process them only to provide the service to you.
You are responsible for having the right to summarise the material you pin, and for anything you publish. Publishing a pin or a board makes a page anyone with the link can read; you can revoke it at any time.
Credits and payment
- Actions that call a model cost credits. Current costs and monthly allowances are on the pricing section, and are shown in the extension before you spend anything.
- Failures are refunded. If a generation fails, or the range you marked has nothing to summarise, the credits are returned and the refund is recorded in your account.
- Monthly credits expire at the end of the period. Paid plans roll over up to one month's allowance. Purchased top-up credits do not expire.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for money.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds
If Pinpoint does not work as described and we cannot fix it, write to us within 14 days of paying and we will refund the current period. Statutory rights where you live are unaffected by anything here.
Acceptable use
Do not use Pinpoint to:
- Break the law, or the terms of the platform whose video you are watching.
- Reproduce a video's content at a scale that substitutes for the video itself, or to republish someone's work as your own.
- Create material that is unlawful, that harasses someone, or that misrepresents a real person.
- Attack, overload or attempt to circumvent the service — including its credit limits, rate limits or payment flow.
- Resell access, or use automated means to create accounts or claim rewards.
We may suspend an account that does these things. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your pins first.
Using your own key
If you supply your own Gemini API key, your use of Google's service is governed by your agreement with Google, and you are responsible for what it costs. In that mode Pinpoint stores nothing of yours on our servers.
Availability
We aim to keep Pinpoint working, but it is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. It depends on third parties — the video platform and the model provider among them — and those can change or fail in ways we do not control. Video platforms change their pages often; when that breaks something, we fix it as quickly as we can.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Pinpoint is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Summaries are produced by a language model and can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything that matters against the source. Each pin links back to the exact second it came from, so that is always possible.
Ending it
You can stop using Pinpoint and delete your account at any time. Export your pins first — every plan can export, and we would rather you left with your work than without it.
Changes
If these terms change materially, the date above changes and we will tell you before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Pinpoint after that means you accept the new terms.
